Over the course of two years we spoke to extraordinary artists about their work, life stories, and creative inspiration.They invited us into their creative spaces—from homes studios to rented rooms—and we photographed where they create their art: a spare bedroom shared with two tabby cats, a church attic studio, or a corner of an apartment hallway turned gallery.You’ll meet a sculptor retelling old myths, a painter who never crosses a line, and a retired environmental lawyer who would rather you donate to a cause than buy his art.
